What Customers Say About Sennheiser PX 100 Collapsible Headphones:

Good enough that I should be able to forget about the sound quality of my headphones and enjoy some music. Sent them back. So what have I learned about sticking stuff in my ear canal. The sony's at least fold up, but not quite as small as necessary and you should see someone wearing those in public. Good. It's a great way to hear music over engine noise, etc.

These Senns actually provide decent treble. I sampled a friend's shure se 500 dollars or whatever and they weren't nearly as good as I had hoped. My shures have taught me what the reviews mean by "sounds congested on complex musical passages." I also tried some altec lansing in ear which were rebranded ultimate ears "stupid hi" 3's (I think). And though they don't have a flat frequency response (too much bass, recessed upper mids) they sound perfectly fine. Maybe it was drawn by a Jordanian orphan). One last note: Apple stock ear buds aren't really as bad as advertised. I own the se 100 shure which I got cheap cheap cheap and they sound cheap cheap cheap. I hate ear buds and iem's (in ear monitors). And the only directions consist of a picture diagram on the back of the case.

Good. someone in imarketing must be looking for a new ijob over at grado) don't fold for storage in my bag, nor do they have a protective case that I'm aware of. I'm aware that another option is a visit to an audiologist for custom-molded ear pieces and custom ear monitors, but I'm not going on tour just yet. The sennheisers are really the only choice for non ear buds that are truely portable. Punk Rock, Dog.So, how do they sound.

It's a lousy way to listen to music if I really wanna LISTEN to music. Nothing but bass and muddy subdued highs. But the igrado (lame name. Every time I stuck in those uncomfortable plugs I found myself cursing the absence of any true high frequencies. That's something I just couldn't do with my shures. Finally, after bringing full-sized sony's Sony MDR-V6 Monitor Series Headphones with CCAW Voice Coil in my lunch bag to work for a few days, I ordered something a bit more inconspicuous: the Sennheiser PX 100.

As close to perfect as I've heard are these: Grado Prestige Series SR80i Stereo Headphone. Perhaps Sennheiser may wish to improve on this. I have yet to find a set that I like. I like music THAT MUCH).One last comment: these took a few minutes to learn how to fold and store in the protective case. (Actually, when I mow the lawn or wear earphones in noisy places I will still put up with those pieces of crap. Seriously, wtf.

But, much like the other ear buds and iems I've tried, they lack high end. Grado makes an igrado (available here:Grado i Headphones for iPod - BLACK). Sounded as bad as the shures and they were even less comfortable (if that's possible) and more cheaply made (parts of them were falling to pieces the first 5 minutes). (Okay, so I don't wanna pick on Romanian orphans. Not perfect. But the grado's aren't really portable and they don't even fold up.

Were the Senn people planning on selling these at ikea with that geedee bookcase that I assembled from a picture drawn by a 6 year old Romanian orphan. They don't have the "big" sound of full-sized cans and they aren't really "open" sounding, but for the price.

Sennheiser did their homework with these headphones and it shows. I little high in the midrange, but what portable phones aren't.

These phones have it down. I have been listening to portable music players for over twenty years.

Treble is good. They sound awesome.

Bass response is good, not overdone nor just not there. They are way comfortable to wear and fold up nicely to fit in a bag or pocket.

Buy them you'll like 'em.

My son-in-law had one a Sennheiser PX100 and told me it was great. I tryed several at the stores and the price was much higher for anything of similar quality. I am very happy with the comfort and sound.

And equally important, you can wear these for long periods of time with no discomfort. Not for airline travel (use CX300s instead) but at home when I cant use my stereo and I want to know whats going on about me.These headphones rock. I got these for my iPod to use around the house. They really are a best buy.Negatives: they are open, so will not isolate you. The bass is really good and better than much more expensive headphones. Midrange and treble are also very clear and sweet. Also am worried that the foam/sponge ear covers will rot, and I dont know where I will be able to get replacements.

Bass and treble are excellent and far better than what I anticipated. It's been slightly over a year since I bought the PX-100, and it's still working fine. Sounds especially good with jazz and classical music. For it's price/performance, it's hard to find a better substitute.Pros:- Excellent sound quality, arguably comparable to Sennheiser's other HD series headphones.- Foldable to be more compact; comes with a case.Cons:- The ball joints holding the cans together look and feel weak. I originally bought this due to overwhelmingly good reviews in head-fi forums, and because I needed a compact headphone to bring along in airplane trips. It has since become my main headphone for a while now. Although I've yet to break it, it's probably a good idea to be careful when folding.- Cord seems to have gotten a little lose on mine after a year of use. If they get too lose, audio will probably be cut off on that end of the headphone.- No 1/4" adapter included.
